Artist's Drawing
of New Nordic Tug 26 |
At the Port Townsend Rendezvous in June and at the
NENTOA Rendezvous in July, Nordic Tugs factory representatives
announced that Nordic Tugs would reintroduce the Nordic
Tug 26. The new 26 will be first seen at the Seattle
International Boat Show in January 2009 and will be
powered by a 110 hp Volvo Penta D-3 diesel engine.
It is speculated that the base price will be between
$175,000 and $200,000.
The first Nordic Tug 26
was introduced at the 1980 Seattle show. Construction
of the 26 was suspended in 1998 as the demand became
greater for the NT 32, 37 and 42 models. According to
the Nordic Tugs owners database, 173 Nordic Tug 26's
were built and all are still afloat today. For the latest
information about the Nordic Tug 26, see the Nordic
Tugs website.
SENTOA, the Southeast Nordic Tug Owner's Association,
was founded in the spring of 2003 at the Nordic Tug Rendezvous
held in Stuart, Florida. The goal of the organization
is to enhance Nordic Tug ownership by providing assistance
to owners, by sharing ideas, cruising information and
local knowledge, and by enjoying social activities with
other association members. SENTOA also organizes an annual
rendezvous.
